Expedition Eve

So the bags are all packed, the new camera has been played with, prodded and explored. Dad is worried as heck, I've tried my best to let him know all will be fine. Hickory and I have been rolling on the floor tonight, having some good quality time together...all that's left is to get mentally prepped for the journey ahead. I just can't believe this has become a reality...I've thought of this Epic adventure for so long, and now its coming to fruition. Man, I'm so lucky and blessed to be afforded this opportunity to explore the farthest reaches of this planet, meet new and exciting people, and to go back to amazing places I've visited before like Buenos Aires and Tierra del Fuego. Penguins, Humpback Whales, Leopard Seals, Albatross, etc., etc. I've tried my hardest to read about where I'm going, but just as hard to avoid any videos or visual images of what I might be encountering. I want to be totally surprised, create my own visuals in my mind and hopefully be amazed at what I'm about to experience. My neighbor friends Geoff and Heidi, who have been to Antarctica 3 times before leading groups, have told me that "whatever you think you will encounter or expect to see, plan to be totally amazed and expect an even more incredible experience". Wow, what more can you say about that...

So I"m off to Buenos Aires tomorrow to meet up with my friend Karina. I plan to dance Tango in the Milongas, eat incredible Argentinian steak in a Parilla or two, hang out in a few of BA's amazing cafes, and maybe catch a Futbol(soccer) game if I'm lucky. What can I say: the adventure is about to begin!!!
